The RasGas Subsurface group is recognized at a pacesetting technical team in Qatar. It’s responsible for managing several blocks of the North Field reservoir, the largest non-associated natural gas reservoir in the world, from planning through development and surveillance. The integrated subsurface group functions include geoscience, reservoir engineering, production engineering, petrophysics, data management, drilling, completions, planning, integrated technology, continuous improvement, and business support.
Rotating Equipment Engineering Specialist
Job Purpose
The incumbent provides Rotating Equipment technical support to the RasGas Operations Expansion Department, OED with responsibility of supporting PMT Rotating Equipment Engineers during the installation and commissioning stages of the project to ensure compliance with appropriate RasGas specifications, functional performance, and safety requirements. The incumbent then takes primary responsibility in a lead role once MAC is achieved (OED Custody) for the final commissioning, startup, and early operational troubleshooting of all supplied rotating equipment. The incumbent also provides machinery input/support to the RasGas Project Management Team, PMT through all phases of project development to ensure RasGas site experience and lessons learned are clearly understood.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognised educational institution or equivalent
• Strong Analytical skills
• Business Communication skills (reports, presentations, etc.)
• Team Player and coach
• At least fifteen (15) years working experience with Rotating Equipment related to the oil and gas industry, especially in the area of Operations and Maintenance.
• Specialization in at least five (5) years of Rotating Equipment discipline work; examples of which are: gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, vibration analysis, dry gas seals, codes and standards, root cause analysis, field installation, costing, etc.
• Extensive experience and exposure to “hands-on” work on the inspection, disassembly and re-assembly of rotating equipment. This includes balancing, alignment and borescope inspections.
• Extensive experience and exposure to root cause analysis and troubleshooting of rotating equipment with state of the art diagnostic techniques and instrumentation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Piping/Static Equipment/Integrity Engineering Specialist
Job Purpose
The incumbent will be required to inspect and Punch List piping and other static equipment, review piping layout design (including stress analysis where applicable), review static equipment design, and raise and resolve technical queries as required. The work covers all piping, piping systems and static equipment on new Project work associated with the Onshore LNG/AKG Process Plant, Offsite Facilities, Utilities and Offplot Utilities, some Offshore work may also be required. The work covers the mechanical acceptance, Commissioning and Start-up Phases of the Project followed by the period that the New Facilities are operated by the RasGas Operations Expansion Department (OED) until the Facilities are finally handed over to RasGas Operations.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Excellent trouble shooting skills, knowledge of RCFA techniques would be an advantage
• Minimum 12 years experience in oil, gas or petrochemical industry in the Piping/Static Equipment Discipline and least 6 years specific involvement in capital projects for major facilities.
• Experience in piping system and static equipment design and pipe stress analysis. Fully familiar with all the applicable ANSI and ASME Piping and vessel codes.
• Extensive experience in dealing with Consultants, Contractors, Vendors and Suppliers, particularly those involved in Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, LNG and Utilities plants.
• Good exposure/experience with the concept and application of Quality Management system. Specific experience with ISO 9000 would be an advantage.
Candidates for all of the above roles must have good written and oral communication skills in English, together with good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member in a multinational environment.
